1、拆开记：plat 是"平的"，form 是"形状"，合起来就是"一个平面的高台"。火车站台、讲台、海上钻井平台、软件平台，全都是"平的高台"，一个意思通吃。政党的"纲领"也用这个词——想成政客站在那个台上宣讲的一整套主张就记住了。
2、plat（又平又宽）这一家一起背，一个都不难：plate 盘子（扁的）、plane 平面、plain 平原、place 地方（原本指开阔地）、plateau 高原、platypus 鸭嘴兽（脚又扁又宽）。
3、读音别踩坑：plate、plane、plain、place 里的 a 都念长音 /eɪ/，而 platform 和 plateau 开头的 a 念得和 cat(猫) 里的 a 一样短，重音落在第一个音节。

The literal sense of "raised, level surface" in English is first recorded 1550s.
